We are excited to share this recently published study that Dr. Paul Dayton was a co-author on with esteemed colleagues from across the United States! This original research highlights the benefits of soft tissue and bone width reduction in patients undergoing the Lapiplasty 3D bunion correction. This procedure provides a functional and cosmetic outcome for patients with these deformities.

The evidence for Lapiplasty 3D bunion surgery for longstanding deformity correction of bunions continues to mount.  3D, or triplane, bunion correction addresses all planes of the bunion deformity as the root of the deformity.  By stabilizing the unstable joint that allowed the bunion to occur, there is a significant improvement in long term outcomes.

The goal of the surgeons at Foot & Ankle Center of Iowa/Midwest Bunion Centers is to provide the most evidenced based treatment that results in the best functional and cosmetic outcome.  We truly believe in doing all that we can to “fix it right the first time” rather than “buy time” as the patient wait’s to see how long it will be until their traditational or short cut bunion procedure lasts.
