Foot & Ankle Center of Iowa is excited to announce that Dr. Tina Starkweather with Laser Nail Center of Iowa will start to see patients out of our Ankeny location in July.
Dr. Tina is a farm girl from Humboldt, Iowa, who attended Iowa State University. She received her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She completed her surgical residency in foot and ankle surgery at Thorek Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Tina was board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
Dr. Tina started her private practice in 1999 and spent much of her career growing and managing her practice. Dr. Tina started treating toenail fungus with laser in 2010. She served on the first Physician Focus Group for Cutera (laser company). Dr. Tina started the Laser Nail Center of Iowa, solely treating toenail fungus, in 2017. Dr. Tina has a unique interest, experience, and success in treating fungal toenails with laser treatment. She has been a speaker on her laser experience and her niche practice nationally and internationally. For the most effective treatment of toenail fungus, Dr. Tina provides expert care and customized treatment for her patients with a Cutera laser and an Erchonia laser.
Dr. Tina and her husband Scott are college sweethearts and have been married for 25 years. They have a dog, a Havashu named Fascia (named after plantar fasciitis). Their hobby is promoting, breeding, and showing Valais Blacknose sheep – “the cutest sheep in the world”. Dr. Tina enjoys lamb snuggles, dog walks, photography, family history, scuba diving, and snow skiing. Dr. Tina & Scott also love to travel, having visited such diverse destinations as Cuba, South Africa, China, Honduras, and the Swiss Alps.
